Luxe Wellness Safari

Nourish Your Soul in the Heart of the Wild

Ever dreamed of going on a luxury Safari and witnessing the magical, free-roaming wildlife of Africa? What if you could combine that already mesmerizing experience with a wellness retreat? Well, we’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Africovery to create exactly that experience just for you!

Join us on this once-in-a-lifetime safari retreat, designed to feed the mind, body, and soul in a balanced format, allowing for reconnecting with nature and with ourselves, fueling personal growth.

Africa is the birthplace of humanity, and we couldn’t think of a better place to elevate one's journey of well-being and personal growth. We’ll weave yoga, meditation, and guided inner work into this tranquil safari experience, so expect to leave with a newfound sense of calm, balance, and inner clarity.

In addition to being moved by the incredible people, diverse cultures, and awe-inspiring nature of Africa, there is something spiritual that happens when you visit this great continent for the first time. An internal shift that awakens the soul. One that expands our inner and outer Universe, bringing with it an expansion of personal growth and fulfillment.

But African time was not the same as American time…As African time passed, I surmised that the pace of Western countries was insane, that the speed of modern technology accomplished nothing, and that because Africa was going its own way at its own pace for its own reasons, it was a refuge and a resting place.

Daily Retreat Themes

Each day features a theme around which the schedule and every experience are thoughtfully designed.

  1. Detach: Unplug from the world, work, people, and things; conscious disconnection.

  2. Centre: Becoming present, embracing our new environment and reality for the next few days.

  3. Cleanse: Surfacing awareness to work through limiting beliefs, patterns, and habits that do not serve you.

  4. Re-Wild: Go deeper into nature, your connection to her, and yourself with a newfound lightness of being.

  5. Immerse: Embracing our collective humanity, diving into another cultural world as well as our own.

  6. Embrace: Yourself, your future, the unknown, the possibility, and a renewed sense of self and life purpose.

Sample Itinerary

  • Arrive in Johannesburg (OR Tambo International Airport)

After disembarking from your plane, you’ll head to an Africovery group lounge at OR Tambo Intl in JHB. Grab a bite, drinks, and WIFI while stretching out after your flight.

We will take a private 2.5hr road transfer to the Safari region.

From there, we are transported to the luxury lodge and home for the next five nights, where we’ll be welcomed with warm face towels and icey alcohol-free breezers.

We have time to unpack, unwind, and settle in before a cheeky sunset game drive.

Dinner and welcoming ceremony around the fire.

If you are opting for a digital detox: say goodbye to your cellphone now!

  • We start the day with an early rise and potentially your first-ever safari meditation. Here, we intentionally invite in tranquillity, come back to our centre, and release excess tension in our bodies. Interestingly, many report a profound difference in the way wild animals respond to humans when there is a profound sense of calm amongst the group.

After cultivating a sense of inner stillness and presence, we go deeper into the wild led by our own private wildlife guide, who will take us to meet our fellow animals. As we take in the peaceful sights, smells and sounds of the Savanna, we start to feel a growing sense of awe and wonder at the beauty that surrounds us.

We return to the lodge for an extravagant breakfast buffet with all the delicious options you can think of!

Downtime: relax by the pool, overlooking the wildlife coming to drink at the riverbed.

After some rest & relaxation, we take an hour to journal (prompts are inside your Africovery journal). Let the insights begin to flow!

Time to feast again - Lunch is served on the deck.

We head back out to the bush for a sunset drive to witness the wild in all its glory.

Back at the lodge, we enjoy a three-course dinner together, followed by group reflections around the fire.

For the night owls in the group, there are games inside the main lounge.

  • Coffee, tea and biscuits are served before we head out for our second bush meditation.

Followed by a game drive where we continue to witness the wild and hear interesting insights that we can learn from the animals. We consider how we apply simplicity and self-acceptance to our busy lives.

We head back to the lodge for breakfast.

Downtime: relax by the pool, overlooking the wildlife coming to drink at the riverbed.

Body-based Movement - Release and renew your mind-body-soul connection.

    Journaling on the deck

We head out once more to witness the wild in all its glory and take in the golden African sunset.

We return to the lodge for dinner and reflect as a group around the fire.

We end the night with a sense of wonder through star-gazing or going on a “sky safari”.

  • Today we embark on a rare experience called - The silent bush walk, where we intentionally deepen our intimacy with nature and with ourselves. Without a vehicle standing between us and the wildlife, we find ourselves immersed and at one with Mother Nature.

On the walk, we consider the ways wild animal tracking could inspire our approach to continuously (re)discover our life’s purpose.

We take off our shoes and enjoy a well-deserved barefoot brunch in the wild, grounding and becoming one with nature.

Downtime: We are driven back to the lodge for a relaxing afternoon of pool time and internalizing the profound experiences of the day.

    Journaling on the deck.

We head out once more for a nighttime game drive.

Return to the lodge for dinner.

    Group reflections around the fire.

Another serene night of star gazing, games or just catching up on your latest novel.

  • Morning yoga safari over the glorious African sunrise.

We embark on our morning game drive with a feeling of rejuvenated energy as our mind-body connection is heightened from our yoga session.

We return back to the lodge for another scrumptious breakfast.

Downtime: relax by the pool, overlooking the wildlife coming to drink at the riverbed.

We’ll take this moment on the day before departure to create our own personalized wellness plan to ensure we return home and continue the trajectory of our growth.

Our last evening safari drive and African sunset, we take a moment to revel in the glory of nature.

Surprise cultural activity over our final dinner.

    Group reflections around the fire.

  • We pack in one last wilderness meditation and safari drive hoping to catch one more incredible wildlife sighting to take home and cherish with our loved ones.

Breakfast buffet back at the lodge before we head out.

We come together one last time for a Closing Ritual before we head back to the airport in Johannesburg (O.R Tambo).

Packed lunches are provided for the trip back.
